How It Works

Identifying Relative Value Within Industries

Screeners offer a structured view of equity valuations at the industry level. Valuations are analyzed along two dimensions: firm quality and relative pricing. Quality is constructed from firms’ current profitability, safety, and growth characteristics, while relative valuation is measured using a pricing indicator.
This framework supports the identification of relatively high-quality, attractively priced firms for investment, as well as relatively low-quality, expensively valued companies that may be suitable for short positions.
